#5167 – isn't it obvious?

Man nabbed after hitting girlfriend with sandwich

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) – A man faces a domestic battery charge after allegedly hitting his girlfriend with a sandwich as she was driving on Interstate 95 on Friday. Police said the 19-year-old man became angry and hit the woman in the arm and face with a sandwich, knocking her glasses off.

The victim nearly lost control of the car because she couldn’t see the road and the man then allegedly ripped off the rear-view mirror and used it to shatter the windshield.

The man was freed on $7,500 bail.

Police haven’t said what type of sandwich was involved.

isn’t it obvious? it was a CLUB sandwich, duh!

at work the other day, one of my coworkers came over to ask me if i had any compressed air so she could clean dust off her desk…

coworker: “do you have any air i could borrow?”

me: “sorry, times are tough, so i’ve been keeping my air in my mattress”

at work today one of my coworkers and i were talking about how we aren’t allowed to look at our own accounts (i don’t think we really have the ability to, only employee accounts now does as far as i know), and how if you do somehow look up your own account then you can be disciplined or even fired for doing so. so my coworker and i were saying how stupid do people have to be to do something like that.

well, just before i left today, we got an email from the president/CEO of the company saying how management found out yesterday afternoon that some employees were looking up the personal account of a certain politician (i’ll let you guess who). once management found out, they contacted federal law enforcement to let them know, and those involved have now been put on paid leave while it’s investigated to find out if account info was leaked or not. if it turns out that the employees who accessed the account were accessing it legitimately, then they’ll return to work, and if not, then they’ll be disciplined and/or fired. somehow i think it’ll be more along the lines of “fired” than just “disciplined”.

but really. HOW STUPID DO YOU HAVE TO BE?

it didn’t say anything about where the culprit(s) are located or anything like that, but when i got to work i saw some upper management in my department running around like crazy, and later on some of my teammates passed a note around to say that they could have sworn that one of the supervisors reeked of booze. could it be related? who knows.

#5166 – mr belvedere?!

so i was going to write a mini-rant (not too serious… joking, mostly) about how since i’m back at home i get to live rent-free while i’m job hunting, and in exchange i’m to take care of yardwork and i do the dishes and vacuum and such. not bad, but while i was doing the dishes tonight i thought “man! when did i turn into mr. belvedere??”, as if cleaning up and taking care of the yardwork and other mr. belvedere-type work was lame. but then i found this vid…

nevermind — being mr. belvedere is pretty awesome!! (except when getting shot at about 4 minutes into this vid…)

#5165 – weekend edition

today i stayed around the house; it was bad weather out (stormy! windy! tornado watch!), so i took the opportunity to get some stuff done that i had been wanting to do for a little while. i updated my flickr stream with some scans of some medium-format pictures i just got developed, did some cleaning of my room, sorted through a bunch of files and junk on my computer, and figured that if the big time newspapers can publish special sunday/weekend editions then the glenn fitzpatrick times should be able to, too.

tomorrow we’re going to go visit pap-pap at 3 and stay for “dinner” at 4. hopefully i can wake up earlier than that because i need to get my hair cut, and if i don’t got in the morning or early afternoon (it opens at 10), then it’s probably not going to happen for about another week (because they close at 5).

time to get to bed, it’s almost 4 am! yikes!

#5164 – internets are serious business

i thought about going into dc tonight for this art show that a photographer i know was going to be in, but since it was all wet and drizzly out and since i’d probably just be there by myself and i didn’t really feel like getting wet and running out on the metro and paying for parking and such i just stayed at home instead. got to see the capitals win on tv, and worked on my website.

now, if you have an iphone or ipod touch, going to glennfitzpatrick.com brings up an optimized version of the site:

i also added some behind-the-scenes code for nifty stuff to happen if i should link text or a thumbnail directly to an image.

i’ve got a to-do list of other neat stuff to do to my site, and since it seems it’s going to rain all day tomorrow, it’s looking like it’s going to be a perfect day for me to spend inside the house and getting these things taken care of.
