My Inner Geek is Showing

With all this talk about the iPhone SDK being released, I’m getting a little interested in learning how to program Objective-C with Cocoa. I haven’t really done any application programming except for what I’ve had to do in my classes a few years ago, and I can’t really think of anything in particular I’d like to make off the top of my head… I just am interested in learning it for kicks. The iFund has nothing to do with it. Ok, maybe a little something to do with it. But like I said, I’ve got no ideas off the top of my head.

At the very least it’s not a bad skill to have knowledge of.

#5013 – ayyyyyy

i was searching around for some word-puzzle-makers for cynicalscribe, so she might be able to put some word-game in the CCRG newsletter (can you say “rollergirl jumble scramble”? i knew you could!), when i came across an online text adventure game featuring — your friend and mine — arthur fonzarelli: the search for fonzie’s treasure

apparently the guy who made it set it up to “phone home” every four moves and linked to the first day’s requests… even though they’re mostly “N”, “GO”, “LOOK”, etc., there’s still some that are pretty funny:

“EAT JUKEBOX”

“TAKE JUKEBOX”

“THROW JUKEBOX”

“APOLOGIZE TO JUKEBOX”

“HUG JUKEBOX”

“MUG JUKEBOX”

“THROW SAFE TO THE SHARKS”

“MUMBLE ‘EEEHHHHH!'”

“LOOK FOR MORK”

“HUDDLE IN A CORNER AND CRY”

“SICK DOG ON SAFE”

anyway. so this game uses asynchronous javascript and XML. so what does fonzie use to power his game? “AAYYYYYYJAX”, bahahahah!

#5012 – banjos are not for shredding

so since i trust you not to go waving these pictures around out in public, i’ll tell you a story…

today at work, my ol’ coworker ben (who still works in the store channel as a technician), forwarded me an email that was sent to the stores and had this image:

does that remind you of what it reminds me of? *shudder* (if you don’t know, don’t worry, there’s no pictures of it on that page).

oh, it just gets more lolz from here…
