#5044 – sweet!
i got my new car insurance policy in the mail — since i’m now 25, and since i’m a good driver (been a liberty mutual policyholder for 3+ years and have a clean driving record), my insurance is going down from $2249 to $1310 a year. holy crap! a savings of $939! that works out to be about $110-$120 per month instead of the $208 that i was paying.
also, under “endorsements attached to your policy”, it says that i have “mexican collision coverage”. i guess that means if i hit any mexicans then i’m covered! 😛

i love the video someone posted on google video and that i embedded at the bottom to go with the disclaimer. XD now if disqus will only get the bug fixed where the comments form is appearing on pages that have comments disabled and this can be totally awesome!

oh man, my body is going to kill me in the morning, but i’ve been uncovering the best things to ever happen to radio krud since sliced bread.
time to put this almost-degree in information systems management to work! but now i need to fold my clothes and get to bed.
#5041 – .htaccess redirect, you're my new best friend
i recently re-setup the statistics service that bruno_boy and i use for radio krud, and one thing that started to bug me after i looked at the logs was how so many people and sites would hotlink to our images. probably about 80% of these hotlinked images were this image of the new kids on the block, all thanks to a post that bruno_boy once made as a halloween scary post or maybe to talk about the group getting back together.
anyway, after some work with .htaccess, i’ve got it so if you read an rss feed of the site, or if i link to the images on livejournal, it works fine. but if you try to hotlink the images elsewhere, then you get this:
the best is when i found two actual radio stations (WIBT and WNOK) hotlinking to this picture of the new kids on the block as part of some hollywood gossip news feed they’ve got. now, not so much:
