#4920 – "fifty percent of rock is having a good time" – roger daltrey

ROCK BAND. zenmetsu bought it tonight and we just finished playing for the past hour before he had to go on a rock ‘n roll grocery store run and i had to make a rock ‘n roll ham sandwich. i was originally going to go up to baltimore after class got out, but the class went longer than expected and i was eager to try rock band. so far dan and i have declared me to be the official drummer of our band since i’m rocking out on them so hard. but it is AWESOME. next stop: unlocking songs!

i think tomorrow night when we get bruno_boy over here we’ll have our band — i told dan that “we’d have to call dave ‘zig’, but then our band could be named ‘glenn-dan-zig’.”

#4919 – i said 'a!', 'l!', 'b!', 'u!'…. "…querque!!"

while at work today i was changing some mobile numbers for this one agency to the 505 area code for some people who were working in albuquerque, new mexico. while processing these changes, i realized that i hadn’t listened to the weird al yankovic song “albuquerque” in ages, so i fired that up on my ipod and was jamming away while i worked.

after a while into the song i realized that it’s pretty much vocals, drums, guitar and bass. the same parts available in rock band! wouldn’t it be neat if that was one of the songs available to do in rock band? i thought that it’d be pretty awesome…

…and then i decided to search for a copy of the song so you could see what i mean if you’ve never heard it before, and lo and behold look at what i found:

looks like someone else had the exact same idea! i bet troutman approves of this post, hahaha.

in other news, when i was leaving work i was thinking about how i was rolling out of work while a lot of my poor coworkers had to stay at work (i only get a 30 minute lunch, and so i get to leave 30 minutes earlier than other people who start at the same time that i do). i think some of bigbigtruck‘s artwork was getting to me subconsciously since i got “white & nerdy” stuck in my head which led to me thinking of something ridiculous that i just had to put together when i got home:

yeahhhhh boyeeeee! i know what time it is! (bedtime!)

good thing i had a coworker take that picture of me at work being gangster and flashing the verizon wireless gang-signs years ago when i worked in the stores, otherwise this joke would be missing its punchline!
