This was posted over 23 years ago; my opinions, thoughts, attitude, and writing style may have evolved since then, and this post might have been different if it were to be posted today.

YAY!!

i was bored last night so i was reading selections in my journal from a year ago today. since i was still bored tonight i continued where i left off.

what’s so great about that, you ask?

just in case that link ever disappears:

Ingredients:

• 1 1 / 2 cups water

• 1 1 / 2 cups sugar

• 1 / 8 teaspoon salt

• 2 tablespoons vanilla extract

Directions:

In a large saucepan over medium high heat, bring water, sugar and salt to a boil, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved. Booil until mixture becomes thick and syrupy, about three to five minutes. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract and cool. Pour into pretty bottles to give as gifts. Great voer ice cream and pancakes. Try it poured over ice with club soda for a refreshing spritzer.
