#5306 – seriously, 2011, what the fuck is going on

This was posted over 14 years ago; my opinions, thoughts, attitude, and writing style may have evolved since then, and this post might have been different if it were to be posted today.

went to mom and dad’s after work to take my prints that were delivered today to michael’s to be framed, and to organize the stuff i moved into my old bedroom in case the basement floods with the impending hurricane. just as soon as i started cleaning the basement i saw on twitter that steve jobs had resigned as ceo of apple.

man, this news today, the earthquake yesterday, and everything else that’s happened so far… if you told me december 31, 2010 that any single one of these things was going to happen this year (let alone all of them) i would have laughed in your face. and this is mostly stuff that’s happened in my own little world, never mind the really crazy stuff that really put things in perspective, like the earthquake and nuclear disaster in japan.

at this rate, the orioles will come from 28 games behind and will end up winning the 2011 world series and i won’t be surprised.

what a crazy year it’s been. and there’s still a whole third of the calendar year to go!

eta: “Former Orioles pitcher Mike Flanagan, a Cy Young Award winner who became a face of the franchise as a television announcer and top executive, was found dead on his Baltimore County property Wednesday afternoon, according to team sources”. holy crap! 🙁
