the other night i tried watching “the 39 steps” while ironing clothes and doing laundry, but unfortunately since it was so loud in the basement with the washing machine and dryer running i had to watch something else. well, tonight after returning from teaching class i popped in my netflix streaming dvd and watched it with dad and anne, and it was really good.

afterwards i picked up the annapolis capital’s sports section for today and found an interesting article and started reading…

anne: “was there a murder in the newspaper?” (referencing the movie we just saw)

me: “there’s a picture of a man with a mustache!” (also referencing the movie)

anne: “did he kill somebody??” (again referencing the movie)

me: *shows anne the photo in the newspaper*

anne: “…huh, he looks like he did.”

me: “you dummy, THAT’S JOHN MCGUIRE!!” (former next-door neighbor)

anne: “WHAT?? I DIDN’T LOOK AT IT BEFORE I SAID THAT!!”

me: “BAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA”
