i went to baltimore tonight to howl at the moon for cinco de mayo; i had a happy hour going on there tonight, but i couldn’t remember who i told and who i didn’t tell. in any case, i knew that it wouldn’t be a big turnout if at all so i wasn’t really expecting much of a draw.
so i got there around 6ish and jenna at the door (the girl on the left) said for me to stop on back downstairs and chat with her later to keep her company. went upstairs and had three rums and cokes (two of which were free) and then went back down to chat with her. after a little while she told me to go get some more to drink and then to come back down after i’d had some more booze, so then two beers later (one of which was free; one of the bartenders asked if i’d be singing tonight and when i went to pay for the drink he said it was on the house, haha) i stopped back downstairs to chat with her.
i ended up staying downstairs and chatting for most of the night and helped out with some of the door-greeter tasks. a few times people leaving would ask for their stamp so they’d be able to get back in so i stamped their wrist for them when jenna was busy with taking the cover charge payments from people entering. i also talked with the security guys at the entrance and the manager on duty while i was hanging out down there.
jenna asked me if i was able to get in touch with parker (previously known as “the girl” as if my life was a harold lloyd script… and yes, parker is her first name) and i told her how i got her number and we went out for lunch together and she thought that was so cute and asked if it was “a date” or “an outing”. i told her it was probably more of an outing but i wished it was more of a date, and she tipped me off that she was going to be celebrating her birthday on monday at this bar in baltimore and that on tuesday she and parker would be doing karaoke at another place in baltimore and that i should show up at both events since parker should be there, haha… she also said that boys are lame because they never really say that they fancy a girl and that though parker is apparently dating some guy right now it’s not really super-serious and so she told me that i should “go ahead and tell her that [i] want to have her babies”, heh.
at one part while working tonight jenna had a killer headache so i offered to get her some excedrin and went on an excedrin-run which she appreciated. i had said to her that i take care of folks who take care of me, and she later gave me some free passes for howl at the moon that i can use with 13 other friends to get in for 80s prom night at howl at the moon if i don’t end up getting another happy hour to use by then, haha.
some of the piano players and regulars recognized me hanging out downstairs and asked if i’d sing and i said i’d doubt i would tonight. i’ll leave that to a night with more folks i know there. jenna kept telling me to go sing, but i wasn’t feelin’ it.
at one point some drunk bride-to-be with her bachelorette entourage showed up late in the night and she got a photo with me… she then asked me if i’d like to see her $10,000 tiffany diamond engagement ring and i tried to take it off her finger before she caught me doing so, hahaha…
in any case, i told jenna to see if she could put in a good word for me with parker, and i guess we’ll see what happens.
then i came back to the apartment (via mcdonald’s late-nite drive-thru where i got some chicken mcnuggets… and the lady stiffed me on sweet ‘n sour sauce! boo!) and saw the best worst spam sender name:

and now i should get to bed since i’ve got an exam in the morning. yaaaaay.
