photos from monday’s kickoff event (portraits and the event itself) are now up on flickr here. i think they turned out pretty well! i took about 280 photos, and narrowed it down to about 50 pictures + the 19 portraits that i ended up taking. taking pictures is the easy part, editing / choosing which ones to release is where things get difficult.

i still need to put together a little proposal about my photography so that they might be able to see about paying me.

i’m super-excited, i start my photojournalism class today! 😀 😀 😀 that, and my journalism writing course officially started a day or so ago, so i’ve got until sunday night at midnight to do my work for that class. very thrilling!

i also just found out today that my pal asya is getting married later this year! good for her! wonder if this means if she’s still going to move out to utah in a month or two?

oh yeah, and that fire at work today? i guess they were cooking something up a bit too much in the cafeteria kitchen. shrug

last night we were watching american idol, and my vote for the most chuckles audition of the night was this guy:

i cracked up when he came out and said he didn’t make it and they had a trombone player do the “womp womp womp” sound effect… when i heard that i asked mom if she remembered when i tried to explain the purpose of the sound effect to her a few weeks ago (i tried finding a similar sound effect online at the time, and it really is impossible to find), and told her that this was EXACTLY the purpose for that “sound of failure” as bruno_boy and i called it.
