when i was at the who concert, while i was waiting for the arena to open up, i kept walking in circles around the arena. during one of my circumnavigations i saw a guy trying to park a humvee as a display for a raffle/contest; he could only have the wheels on concrete, and not on the sections of ornamental bricks embedded in the concrete, so i helped him navigate so that all the wheels were on the concrete. he asked me if i would fill out one of his entry forms, and since i didn’t have anything better to do i figured i’d fill one out.
i just got a call from these folks asking if i remembered filling out an entry form for a contest at the who concert, and it took me a minute to remember. this group had helped sponsor the contest as a way of advertising about their company, and they chose some folks at “random” to listen to their sales pitch in exchange for a supposed 3-day/2-night trip (hotel and airfare included) to either las vegas or orlando. they said that i had to come hear their talk by saturday in order to get it. i suppose it’s either a good thing or a bad thing that i don’t have the time or the gas money right now to listen to it.
