so work sucked today, but you probably all know that by now. i ranted about it for a while after i got home and mom and dad said “sounds like you don’t like your job.” SURPRISE, SURPRISE. ben and i got to talking today about work, and we agreed that while we can stand idiot customers (you’ll find those everywhere), it’s the mucky-mucks we can’t stand. i also found this, though:
Under the theory that a closed store is an unproductive store, expect Apple’s retail stores to become more productive. It seems nearly impossible to arrange for some locations, but Apple intends to lengthen the store hours considerably: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mon-Fri, 8a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Sundays. Stores are now open about 62 hours a week, compared to 90.5 hours under the new schedule, or a 46% increase.
geez, and i thought my company was nuts for extending hours to 9 am – 9 pm monday-saturday and 10 am – 6 pm on sundays!
good things about today, though: there’s a new smoothie place in the shopping center, and this girl (rather busty girl, actually) came into the store to have a phone she owned programmed with her number, so i helped her out with that. we got to joking back and forth and she told me i ought to come down to the smoothie shop sometime since she works there and it’s brand new. after she left, my coworkers next to me said they thought she was flirting with me and being smooth by inviting me down to her shop, haha…
later the girl who’s currently the store’s greeter (and soon to be new part-time customer care rep at our kiosk in the mall, apparently) started talking to me how she missed me and that she likes my hair now, prompting my coworkers again to say that they thought she was flirting too. (last i heard, though, she was dating one of our techs, and besides, i always feel that dating someone on the job isn’t that great of an idea).
i said to them “look, i didn’t appear on ‘america’s most wanted… BY THE LADIES’ for nothing!”, bahahaha…
so that was my high point for the day, and even then it wasn’t that exciting, either.
i gave mom and dad their souvenirs from the trip, and they really liked them. i got dad a t-shirt from the louisville slugger museum (he’s really jealous of my bat and wants to go to the museum now to get his own, hehe), and mom really likes her mug from cafe du monde. i gave anne her alligator hat last night when i got home, and she really likes it and said she looks like a snallygaster with it on.
i’m hungry but need to get my sleep to be at work at 8… the question is: do i get that late-night snack or not?
