#1991 – most amount of art i've done in ages

so today i went to my japan class. i had been working on typing up the papers on the articles and the chapter i had to read until late last night (4:30 am kind of late ^_^;;;;), so i only got about 3 hours of sleep. went off to class and arrived at the building just as sensei was walking up, so i held the door open for her and we greeted each other in japanese. mostly today sensei passed around ads from newspapers (i found an ad for fanta, but it wasn’t apple, hehe…) and also passed out some pictures of random things in japan like shopping arcades and vending machines and other stuff like that. she also passed out some of the paraphernalia for the tea ceremony as well. we watched a movie on japanese etiquette and it was rather amusing to see.

sensei talked about how she had problems with a suitcase that was broken by a japanese domestic airline and how they gave her the runaround until they realized that she was american and not japanese (not anymore, at least, haha – she considers herself to be a crazy american now even though she’s originally from japan), and americans like to sue, hehehehe…

some of the people in discussion asked about musk melons and vending machines (グリシさん “greasy-san” talked about how he tried to hunt down how vending machines in the middle of nowhere got their power), and someone asked if there was a problem with unlicensed taxis, so グリシさん said that it wasn’t like in china where if you took the wrong sort of taxi then it would drive down an alley and they’d demand your money and if you didn’t pay up then people with baseball bats would stream out of the shadows and beat it out of you – i said that taxis in japan may not do that, but if you don’t watch out they’ll try to steal your luggage and talked about how on my first and only taxi ride in japan the taxi driver almost drove off with my suitcase, hehehe…

this girl in my class might be dropping by the bookstore tomorrow so i can help her purchase a computer for school. i told her today all about how to go about purchasing, but told her that if she had any questions to feel free to stop by.

this afternoon i worked on designing kanchi’s hand for my cosplay idea, and i paper-maché’d and got it all set up, and it’s not looking too bad. i’ve got to put weights in the back of this thing because it keeps wanting to fall forwards off my head since it’s huge as anything, hehehe… ^_^; mom’s suprised since it’s the most amount of hands-on art i’ve done in ages, hehe…

tom came over and gave me my birthday present – it’s a traffic-cone hat that says “CAUTION – GAS LEAK BELOW”, lol, and zenmetsu came over later and gave me a shirt that says “KISS ME – I’M A PIRATE”, hehehe. after that he had to go home since he was primarily out here to set up an appointment at bubbles at the annapolis mall to get his hair dyed, so tom and stueypark and i walked downtown and saw part of the free navy band concert and sat on the dock down there and talked.

kelly’s friend emily seems to have taken a liking to me *^_^* excellent. ^^ she also said for me to go to bed (not because she wanted to be bossy, but because she cares). *^_^* awww…

another quick bit of regional interest: i just chatted with haaaychiq about aviation and especially about herb kelleher since we’re the only two that list him as an interest, but we also briefly touched upon the aviation industry in chicago (where haaaychiq‘s from and also where jimmmay is from too). and what does chicago have to do with anything special? well, today i realized that for all this time i’ve had zimne piwo as an interest, now that i’ve had my birthday i can actually have some, haha. and what does this have to do with jimmmay? well, we both have zimne piwo as interests, hehe…

yeah, that amused me too much. time for bed for me. and oh, yeah, check out while you’re at it too.
