my japanese teacher asked the japanese lady in the class to try to act like a travel agent and sell us the idea of travelling to japan…
lady: “it’s very very safe… almost no crime, and no guns – the only people with guns are policemen and gangsters!”
hehehehehehe… apparently you never really see the gangsters, though, they’re mostly behind-the-scenes…
we also watched a movie about different things in japan, and it was kind of weird to see all these places i had been to and recognized, haha… even the steps of one building i was in in akihabara was in the movie, hehe. at one part in the movie it talked about how to eat with chopsticks and showed a flight attendant asking a man on a plane “have you ever used chopsticks before?” and he replied “no, i don’t think so…”. what kind of response is that?? you ought to know whether or not you’ve used chopsticks before! hehehe…
from things i saw in the movie i thought it was filmed rather recently (in the last few years or so). sensei said it was probably filmed about 20 years ago… i guess japan really is stuck in the ’80s… ^_^;
