#1417 – it does this on purpose to annoy me

why is it that whenever i clean up my desk, my computer ends up not working?!

now it:

a) crashes on startup, showing the startup screen all corrupted

so i tried starting up from the install cd…

b) crashes on startup from the install cd, bringing up a command line that says “the installer could not launch – restart your computer (exit code 0)”

so i tried taking out all but one of my memory chips…

c) started up fine, but sluggish

so i tried putting all the memory chips back in…

d) starts up fine, but once it finishes starting up it says in several different languages “please restart your computer”

so i tried taking out one of the memory chips that i had put back in…

e) starts up fine, but programs i tried to launch either wouldn’t launch at all, or would crash when they finished launching

so i started up from the install cd and tried to run disk utility to check the disks…

f) started up fine from the install cd, disk utility didn’t find anything

so i tried to start up in single-user mode to run fsck

g) started up, didn’t go into single-user mode, and still had problems launching programs

so i tried taking out my scsi card…

h) starts up fine, but several dialog boxes pop up to say there’s a framework missing

so i tried to ssh into my computer from another mac we have to replace the file…

i) wouldn’t let me ssh into it

so i tried to ssh into the imac from my computer…

j) wouldn’t let me ssh into it

so i checked the system preferences (now launching fine) for my ip address…

k) apparently my computer isn’t recognizing the internet connection

so i tried restarting again…

l) now it sits there with the cursor spinning when it finishes starting up

any ideas? ^^;;;
